Srinagar, June 2 (KNO) :  Death had kept a close date with this Bhat family of Fatehkadal Srinagar. In 2008, he lost his mother, a chronic diabetic patient and just after a gap of three months he lost his father Muhammad Amin Bhat to sudden heart attack in New Delhi. Amin was dealing with pashmina business.

Qaiser Amin, 21, was mowed down by CRPF vehicle at Nowhatta ON Friday. Before his parents, his grandmother had expired and his grandfather was the only support for Qaiser. But the wheel of fate spinned in a way that he lost his grandfather just a year after the death of his parents, leaving him all alone. Living with his uncle Muhammad Ashraf Bhat in a three-storey house at congested Fateh Kadal locality in downtown, Qaiser, who was 11-year-old in 2008, didn’t loose hope. Qaiser’s paternal aunt and her husband Ghulam Muhammad Najar, a resident of Buchwara, Dalgate volunteered to adopt all three siblings—Qaiser, Ifat and Toiba.

“All three of them were with us since 2008. They used to treat their aunty as their mother and would call her as mama. Najar, a businessman, would pay school and tuition fee of Qaiser, and his two sisters. “Qaiser completed his 12 class exam a few years ago and decided not to study further.

His sisters, Toiba is in class 12 and Ifat studies in class 11. Najar says Qaiser had an affiliation with his old house at Fateh Kadal and would often visit historic Jamia Masjid to offer prayers. “He was a practicing Muslim and was on a fast when CRPF vehicle crushed him yesterday,” he says. “Before leaving from Dalgate, he asked his aunt to accompany him but with a rider that she would have to stay with him till Asr prayers.

My wife refused saying what would she do in the masjid till Asr and then Qaiser left alone.” Qaiser died and could not fulfil the wish of his two sisters that was to get them married off in well off families as they had always seen poverty. "Where will we go now. Who will get us married," Toiba and Ifat cried before fainting.
